diving into art making

a life long pursuit

As a child, I used to sit for hours making paper dolls, intricately cutting around thin limbs and hair strands. Each doll had several outfits, with tiny fold-over tabs to hold the delicate paper in place.

I still find this kind of careful work satisfying, almost meditative, no mater the medium. It feeds the writer in me, opening a doorway into the poetic.

One of my favourite things to do is stitch thread through paper, perhaps because it feels like I'm literally stitching a story onto the page.
